Deyjah Harris, T.I.’s Daughter, Breaks Her Silence on Their Controversial Past
At 23, Deyjah Harris, the eldest daughter of rapper T.I. and R&B singer Ms. Niko, is finding her voice—and not shying away from the controversy that once shook her family.
With 1.5 million Instagram followers and a successful modeling career, Deyjah seems to have it all. But behind the scenes, her relationship with her famous father has been complicated, especially since the infamous “gynecologist controversy” that made headlines in 2019.

The issue began when T.I. revealed on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast that he accompanied Deyjah to annual gynecological exams to ensure her virginity was “intact.”
The comments sparked outrage, with fans and media calling out the rapper for invading his daughter’s privacy and perpetuating harmful ideas about women’s bodies.
The backlash was swift and severe, forcing T.I. to apologize publicly on Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk.” He admitted he was wrong to discuss such private matters and that he had stopped attending those appointments when Deyjah was 15 or 16.

While T.I. tried to explain himself, Deyjah remained largely silent in public. However, her social media activity spoke volumes—she unfollowed both T.I. and his wife Tiny, and liked several critical tweets about her father.
On the family’s reality show, “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle,” Deyjah finally opened up, admitting the incident had changed her relationship with her father. She described feeling exhausted by having a parent who always thinks they’re right, hinting at deeper issues beyond the one controversy.
Tiny, T.I.’s wife and Deyjah’s stepmother, acknowledged on the show that T.I. sometimes takes things too far. T.I. himself insisted that no one could tell him how to parent, but he did express regret for his actions and apologized again on “Red Table Talk.”
Despite his apologies, fans were eager to hear more from Deyjah herself.
Recently, Deyjah has started to share more of her perspective, posting on social media about the challenges of growing up in a blended, high-profile family.

She’s spoken about feeling pressure to measure up to her talented siblings, many of whom are musicians or performers. While she may not be pursuing music, fans have encouraged her to continue modeling and embrace her individuality.
In a particularly telling moment, Deyjah reflected on her father’s advice about dating and maintaining her “pureness.” She shared a throwback video of T.I. giving her stern warnings about boys and the importance of self-respect.
Though she acknowledged the advice was well-intentioned, she also made it clear that she’s learned to set her own boundaries and make her own choices.
Today, Deyjah is carving out her own path, balancing her public persona with her private struggles. She’s been open about her decision to remain celibate for now and continues to use her platform to share her journey of healing and self-discovery.
While her relationship with T.I. remains a work in progress, Deyjah’s willingness to speak her truth has inspired many young women facing similar challenges.
Through it all, Deyjah Harris is proving that even in the shadow of controversy and fame, she can find her own voice—and use it to empower herself and others.
